Layers of human life – Part I

There are so many layers to be a human being. As a matter of fact, we are bombarded by these layers, and unknowingly, we form our identities around it. We do this since we are born. It is like we are shaped by outside things until we voyage to our hero’s journey. It is strange, at the same time, beautiful. The true purpose of living in our soul is just waiting for our patience to unravel its true self. Some people find this with persistence; some don’t, and some just realize it thinking that they are too late. But…well, it just depends on your perspective. The layers that have been installed by society, since we are born, in order to live a better life is not always a good idea to live a better life. The ideals come from within. The direction of the soul we crave, we just don’t understand it immediately, but slowly, with patience. Life is happening at the pace with which an individual owns his life. For some, it is fast (for most of us); for some, life’s pace is a very slow (very rare). For them, it doesn’t matter the pace, but the constant stillness inside them, that needed awareness within them that had been distorted by too many layers imposed by the society. That awareness, in other words for it would be consciousness or the light within them—it has been there since they were born. They had to find it again. But first, they had to get lost in the chaos of the word.

The chaos that the world presents is just the manifestation of the layers that had been installed since we are born. Quite ironic, isn’t it? But it takes efforts to untangle those layers. Also, I’m not saying that those layers are bad, but they are the things—for some people, it’s suffering; for some, it’s bliss; for some, it is something; people give names; they attach to things—but these things, these layers, the dis-attachment, it requires effort. The different surrounding that had been dictating you since your birth, psychologically speaking, they are like weeds in your brain that has outgrown you and had hidden the true purpose of your soul within your body. This Maya, or this mirage, constantly shifts your perspective around the world. You become accustomed to a culture. You have developed certain habits to live your life in accordance with how you are brought up. You slowly understand the world that it contains everything in it, not just the heaven, but the hell in it too. Sometimes the reality shock you, or sometimes you just know and you don’t react. The layers that have grasped you through the whim of society—intentionally or unintentionally, had taken you. The weeds are growing continuously. You are grinding in life. It’s either chaos or order. But eventually, you realize that orderlies in every chaos. You understand this. If you don’t, the abyss awaits you. You just get drown in it until the realization hits you.

The realization to entangle the layers comes slowly. In human beings, the art of patience is a must. Without it, the reaction to the problems in life sabotages the body. Life becomes hard. Looking at problems as the opportunity is art too. It comes with patience. Or when you start to see problems as opportunities, you are equipped with patience naturally. But most people do not understand the meaning of patience. They want things in their life right away. To them, I just want to say that how much time does it takes for the baby to come out from a mother’s belly? The baby cannot come out of the stomach after two months, right? Patience is like that. Just like a baby needs a foundation inside the belly to fully become an independent consciousness, the art of patience requires a vision, a goal, and the right kind of motivation and desire. Patience comes with a foundation. Foundation comes when you cut the weeds that had shaped you since you are born. Those layers, those weeds—the people’s perspective, what they see you in their eyes, maybe it’s not what you want to become. But you are getting affected by it. Those layers of perspective have taken you by storm. Their opinions hammering you, producing that emotional reaction that is making your life miserable, worthless, or perhaps boring. You can name it anything, but the reality is you don’t really know the dwelling suffering inside you. That’s the life of most humans in a nutshell.
